After experiencing a series of unfortunate events, I took refuge in a world of plants & natural colour. What started from a place of curiosity, a balm to soothe the stress of daily life, developed into a lifelong passion & became my livelihood.
With long days, hard work, blood, sweat & many a tear I turned my passion into my trade. I started with nothing & grew my business into a thriving natural dye company, sold in select stores throughout the world. Today, I work with people from all over, helping them overcome their challenges to become skilled, confident natural dyers so they can enjoy the benefits of this incredible process firsthand.

Here is a peek into some of the information included in the 'foundations in natural dyeing' signature course that will help you master the process while growing your understanding, knowledge, confidence & skills.
What you'll get
Module One
In this first module, I set you up for success with a solid foundation to develop the rest of your practice upon. We'll start with an introduction to the process, go over the basics & look at the exact tools, powder's & equipment you'll need for strong colours & consistent results.
One of the main reasons that colour doesn't stick or washes out is that fibre isn't cleaned or prepared properly. In this foundational module, I'll teach you my method for preparing fibres so you get colours that bind consistently every time! Whether you're drawn to linen, cotton, cashmere, wool or silk, Module 1 will show you how to begin.
Module Two
Mordants are the magical ingredients that can make the difference between strong colours that last & those that wash out or fade quickly. In this module, I show you the simplest most effective method of mordanting. You'll learn what mordants are and how to mordant all types of natural fibre like cotton, linen, wool, silk etc.
You'll also get learn how about plant-based mordants, alternative methods, disposing, reusing & storing your mordants. I show you exactly what works no matter the fibre type & simplify this often overwhelming subject.
Module Three
This is where is starts to get fun, we'll take a deep dive into sources of natural colour, where to look for dyes in your kitchen, neighbourhood or locality. I share my extensive guide to foraging for colour & sources of natural dye with a focus on plants that are known for their brilliant colour properties.
With how-to video lessons, we'll look at how to prepare plants, create dye baths, extract colour from raw plant material & powdered dyes and everything in-between!
Module Four
This is where the alchemy happens, after preparing, & mordanting your fibres, then select the right dyes, your'e ready to watch your fibres transform before you eyes! Possibly the most exciting part of the process, you'll learn how to dye all natural fibres like cotton, linen, wool, silk & more using a variety of dye plants & colours.
Most importantly, I teach you how get the most saturation from your dye baths & how to create strong lasting colours. I share everything I've learn over the last decade with my top dyeing tips that will set you up for incredible results each & every time.
Module Five
Having the knowledge to explore your colour possibilities is essential to your growth as a natural dyer. In this module, I'll show you how to expand your natural dye palette & grow your confidence.
Through various videos & lessons, we will look at the wonderful world of modifiers; when to use them, how to make them & how to modify your fabric. With extra instruction on how to work with homemade or store bought iron, you'll gain a clear understanding of modifying & how to incorporate it into your practice.
Module six
In our final module, you'll solidify everything you have learnt in the previous lessons by walking through an extensive range of real life dying examples.
We'll dye Aran jumpers, organic cotton sweat pants/hoodie, napkins, trousers, t-shirts & more. A entire & complete wardrobe for you to get a through grasp of how to apply your skills to practical dyeing scenarios.
Plus I share video instruction on how to extract colour from a range of dye sources, so you can become a natural dye expert in before the year is out!
