Made for each other, local fibres + natural dyes.
I use alpaca fibre from Ashford Alpacas, a small farm in Co. Wicklow, Ireland, where the alpacas are raised with care. The fibre, known for its incredible softness, is a perfect choice for those who find wool "itchy". Its luxurious feel and comfort are unmatched. Compared to goats & sheep, alpacas require less water & food. Alpaca fibre doesn't contain lanolin (a naturally occurring waxy substance that coats the fibres of sheep hair) & is spun into yarn without using intensive chemicals and detergents. Alpaca fibre is antibacterial, breathable & naturally odour-resistant. Alpaca waste can be used as a rich fertiliser to add valuable nutrients back into the soil & at the end of its life cycle, the fibre is biodegradable.
